Access routes to the Park

The Dolomite mountain groups are connected by several communication roads thanks to their morphology and to the vast network of valleys and passes. As a consequence, access routes to the Ampezzo Dolomites are distributed along the 4 roads leading to the mountain passes and 4 other access roads at high altitude. In addition, there are several uphill lfts which serve both ski areas and important hiking areas.

The official CAI (Italian Alpine Club) trails are more than a hundred and mountain rifugi about twenty, in the Ampezzo area alone, plus other mountain lodges which lie just beyond the border. Public transport services connect all the main roads, while replacement shuttle services are available on access roads when car transit is forbidden.
